Welcome to the Free Music Ring! I created this so people using the web would be able to easily identify places where freely-copiable original music can be obtained, whether it be in the form of musical compositions or in terms of sound recordings. Sites that belong to this ring endorse the Free Music Philosophy, explicitly or implicitly. These could include musicians who encourage a philosophy of "copy and give to a friend"; musicians who allow non-commercial copying of music, and musicians who support the notion of the GNU Copyleft. You may also want to consider joining the free music mailing list. Feel free to use any of the the cool logo created by free music logos available.
Before you can join, you need a Free Music-related site. Due to overwhelming number of requests asking to be added, we have strengthened the criteria a page must fulfil before it can be added to the ring in the interest of maintaining a high-quality ring that fans can enjoy. To this end, only sites that have substantial original music content (i.e., generally more than one page with music content not ripped off from other pages) will be added in the future. Please let me know if you encounter a page in the ring that doesn't meet these standards.
To join the ring, go to the join ring page on Webring . Webring will then mail a confirmation to you and point to you a URL where you will be given instructions on installing a server-side navigation bar on the page which you submitted to the Free Music ring!
I will then take a look at your page and if the server-side navigation bar is in place, I will add to you to the ring shortly. If the server-side Navigation bar is NOT on the page you submitted to the ring, then I will not be able to add you. So please don't ask me to add you until the server-side navigation bar is on your page.
