Primus - Lacquer Head

Tabbed by Matt Walker.

Ok, I have been looking at the tab that people keep saying is right
and I think it's not too far off, after watching the Family Values
show a countless number of times and listening to this song, this tab
is almost exact. Les uses a little less treble on this than normal,
makes the sound a little meatier.

The technique is a little unusual. Bar the G and D with your index
finger at the 2nd fret, reach around back with your thumb and mute the
E, and put your middle and index fingers above the 3rd fret on the E
(you will hammer on with these two fingers) Your plucking hand should
keep a steady rhythm of slap....pop....slap....pop. Doing this with
the hammering will give the effect that Les is doing three muted
slaps. The rhythm is hammer,slap,hammer,pop then repeat.

S=slap

Les has re-aquired his double-thumbing technique like he used in "My
Name is Mud" You gotta have one hell-o-va fast thumb for this one.

Intro & Main:

This is kinda tough. Once you get the pattern down, it's easy. What
I've found to be easiest is, just frop your thumb on the E, and let it
rest there, while your left hand hammers the dead note. Your pinkey
is in the correct position to fret the 7th fret on the D string.
Lightly fret that note--just enough to give it its full value without
it rattling. Your index finger on your right hand will be ready to
give the A flat a quick pop. Here is the intro, with a few varients.

     s X s     s X s     ss   p
G||---------|---------|----------|
D||---------|---------|-------7--| The last variation is a thumb-spasm,

Heavy Part:
This is the tough part. It involves A LOT of double-thumbing.

I totally agree with Matt Wilkinson's tab for this, except one little
thing. At the one part after verse or chorus, Matt has:

G||-----7\\\\--|-------------|
D||-----7\\\\--|-------------|
A||------------|-------------|
E||--5---------|--5po4--0h2--|

instead of      E|--5po4--0h2--|

I'm almost positve it's

G|--------------------|
D|--------------------|
A|--2h3---------------|
E|-------2h3----------|

The tabs I've seen so far are wrong when it comes to the funky fast
break and the verse lines.
