Pist-on

Number One

Pist-on's music is a cross between Metallica and Paradise Lost, and while the heaviness quotient of the latter groups is in a somewhat dubious status, Pist-on's songs are aggressive and brutal. Produced by Josh Silver (Type O Negative), the rhythm section of the band is tight and dominant throughout the album. What I liked most about the music in the band is the noisy guitar solos combined with the solid rhythm section. In fact, I feel this would have been better off as an instrumental album as the vocals seemed to distract from the riffage, even though there were some high spots where everything came together well. Overall, I think this band has great potential, particularly in terms of the drumming and lead guitar work.
