When I first saw the album, I thought the Step Kings were a ska band. But the music they play can be best described as alternative rock with a harder edge, along the lines of Crushed and Ruth Ruth. The guitar work is interesting at times. The highlights of the music are in the syncopated drumming the industrial influences that are thrown in every now and then. I personally thought the production could be better. It'll be interesting to see where the band take this EP.
