Mortal Kombat

The forces of good and evil (seems to be the case in every other movie, doesn't it?) must fight in a battle called the Mortal Kombat. The prize is the rulership of planet Earth. The Emperor of Outworld has his eyes set on earth, and so he sends Shang Tsung, his aide, to make sure he wins the Mortal Kombat. On the side of the good, you have Liu Kang (Robin Shou), Johnny Cage (Linden Ashby), and Sonya Blade (Bridgette Wilson), aided by Lord Rayden (Christopher Lambert), the god of lightning and thunder, who must defeat Shang Tsung (Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa) and his warriors in Mortal Kombat. They go through many trials and tribulations to achieve their goal, and the rest is left as an exercise for the viewer. Some of the moments are quite funny. The special effects are okay. The acting is decent at times, and the fighting scences are pretty well done. The techno/industrial soundtrack has some potential.
